Moor


James H. Moor
James Moor is a professor of philosophy at Dartmouth College and is an adjunct professor with The Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics (CAPPE) at Australian National University. His publications include work on computer ethics, nanoethics, philosophy of artificial intelligence, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, and logic. He is currently editor of the philosophical journal Minds and Machines. He is also the president of the International Society for Ethics and Information Technology (INSEIT) and in 2003 received the American Computing Machinery SIGCAS Making a Difference Award.




Vinge

Vernor Vinge
Vernor Vinge is a retired professor of mathematics and computer science at San Diego State University and a three-time Hugo-award winning science fiction author as well as a thoughtful and imaginative voice in the discussion of the impact of computing in the coming decades. He has regularly been a member of the Selection Committee for the Award for the Advancement of Free Software, given by the Free Software Foundation. His novella "True Name" (1981) was one of the first works of fiction to explore the notion of cyberspace in detail. Among his non-fiction works are "The Coming Technological Singularity: How to Survive in the Post-Human Era" and "2020 Computing: The Creativity Machine" Nature, 2006. His most recent novel is Rainbow’s End: A Novel with One Foot in the Future (Tor Books, 2006).
